BREATHE, THE NEW AIR
PRODUCT DESIGN - PRINTING - UX/UI DESIGN
This self-directed project explores ideas surrounding a dystopian and hyper-consumerist world. It pulls creative direction from the environmental impacts of these ideas. I considered the modern-day advocation for environmental justice, weighing this up against the planet and the environment’s actual condition. Are adequate production alternatives feasible? Would we able to sustain soaring levels of production and consumption?
This project is a satirical testament reflecting on how badly humans treat Earth, and the possible impending consequences of this. I chose to explore this through visual communication of theoretical product design solutions for what would otherwise be detrimental implications of the environment and natural ecosystems, and the survival of humans.

Introducing:
BREATHE: The NEW Air ™️
The brand new, state of the art breathing device.
Brought to you by THE FUTURE AIR ™️
Each Breathing Vial comes with an Algae+ microchip and vial. These two components are connected, and both contain the required amount of technologically developed algae, which is the breathing agent in this wonderfully innovative product. The chip gets transplanted into either the neck or the wrist. Once it is in place, simply plug the Vial into your phone, and the two constituent parts of this breathing system are powered, generating oxygen directly into your system.
People of today can thank the wonder of Fortified Algae in our phone-powered breathing device for the Air they breathe. The rapid decline of Earth’s plant biosphere has meant this innovation became vital to sustain survival.
The entire product is the result of extensive research on the ecological systems which would die because of Earth’s critical biosphere getting eroded. Notably, issues directly related to this include manufacturing resources running into obsolescence, and the plastic pollution crisis.
Gentrification clearing green areas, dying rainforests, and water pollution leading to coral reefs and ocean life becoming fast extinct, all for the sake of modern urban development, signifies the beginning of the end.
We know they are dying, but what happens when they finally do?
