GOOD MORNING
STILL LIFE PHOTOGRAPHY
With influence from the multinational retailer Marks and Spencer, who create their “Simply Food” advertisements to showcase a wide variety of both food groups and culinary occasions, I created a still life photographic series encapsulating the essence of breakfast and mornings.
Utilising this visual principal genre allowed me to gear the focus towards the objects in frame. This is what effectively highlights the importance of each item and why they have been included.
Through the selection I picked out, I wanted to capture the essence of a typical morning. Being a subject with personal undertones, I decided to build the entire scene using kitchenware from my family home. This not only made the entire scene more bespoke to me in terms of resonation, but it also maintained the authenticity of it.
